Fun and Games
Birth of the KTLA Telecopter
Back in 1958, Los Angeles TV channel KTLA and National Helicopter Co.
of Van Nuys designed and built the world's first news helicopter, now a
standard in broadcast journalism. A section at the National Helicopter
website includes photos, documents and press releases on the
Telecopter's construction and dedication.

Library
The Library of Congress runs this fun site for families about American
history, inventions, presidents and more with streaming audio, video
and archived photos.
Boz
the Green Bear Next Door
Boz is a big green bear that lives in a tree next door to twins Drew
and Gracie Baxter, their parents and near Grampie and Grandma B. This
fun computer-animated DVD series for preschoolers teaches about the
love of Jesus and biblical principles with songs, humor and colorful
animation.
The
Church Sign Guy
A Lutheran pastor in Minnesota is nicknamed The Church Sign Guy for his
wacky postings on the sign outside his church. He is also the subject
of the award-winning 2005 short film "If There Were No Lutherans, Would
There Be Green Jell-O?" (we're not making this up; we'd be breaking one
of the Ten Commandments if we were).
JC
Play Zone
A fun family-safe place online from Lutheran Hour Ministries for the
little gamers in your family, ages 2-6. Kids and parents can learn
about Jesus Christ's (JC's) love for them through online games, videos,
downloadable coloring books, puzzles, recipes and crafts.
Jot
the Dot
A beloved Christian TV
cartoon from the 1960's and 70's, gently teaching biblical
principles to
kids in
fun 4-minute episodes. Today Jot is the official mascot of the
FamilyNet cable channel, which streams all his cartoons on its website.
Old
Lutheran
Ever wanted a Martin Luther bobblehead doll? Or one of his beloved wife
Katie? You can get these and more at this wacky humor site created by
Midwestern Lutherans of Scandinavian descent (or Scandahoovian as they
say it). It's the center for Lutheran pride... but not TOO
proud.

VeggieTales
The world's first computer-generated cartoon series, and still the
silliest, has a fan site with all the info on Larry the Cucumber, Bob
the Tomato, Junior Asparagus, Petunia and all their Bumblyburg friends.
How do they pick up things without hands? Hmmm... they're cartoons, I
guess. :)

If that forwarded email sounds too good (or strange) to be true, screen
it at this scam-busting site run by veteran Christian talk radio
personality Rich Buhler. Like Snopes, Truth or Fiction catalogs the
latest email hoaxes, rumors, scams, conspiracy theories and computer
viruses.
